The Numismatic cabinet

The Numismatic cabinet

On the day of the Union of the Romanian Principalities, in 2011, the first numismatic cabinet was inaugurated at the History Museum, a very valuable permanent exhibition, where coins and ornaments from antiquity to the middle of the 20th century are displayed in original furniture.

The exhibition highlights the monetary discoveries from the territory of Dâmbovița County, with a special look at the medieval city of Târgoviște. The exhibited heritage is, for the most part, unique and includes 27 monetary treasures (25 of silver and 2 of gold) and more than 1200 pieces.

Discovering the valuable monetary collection, but also the ornaments is one of the many reasons why you should visit Targoviste. (http://discovertargoviste.ro/)

Let's be proud that we are from Târgoviște!
