Church
About
It is a small church built in the first half of the fourteenth century. In the time of Mircea the Old (Mircea cel Batran), in 1394 it was burned to the ground by Baiazid's troops.
Today the interior is covered with a painting made between 1993-1995. Under the present church was discovered a wooden church from the fourteenth century.
The church is today the sexton of the Valahia University in Târgoviște.

Small in size, the building originally served as a courtyard church of the Cantacuzino family, and its architecture enchants us with the Brancovean elements, specific to the era.
The church also hosts a small exhibition with icons, books and objects of priceless worship.

It was built in 1654 by Udriște Năsturel and is located in the old center of the city.
It is the only church whose name, very suggestive and rarely, shows strictly economic concerns of those who laid the foundations of the settlement.
The tower above the nave, collapsed at the earthquake in 1940, was restored and painted in the traditional style by Prof. Vasile Blendea.
The facades present a beautiful combination of elements of old tradition in the architecture of the Romanian Country with those from Moldova, when the church of the Stelea monastery was built.

The Church of St. George was built by the saint ruler Neagoe Basarab, who decided at the beginning of his reign to build a small church above a well.
It seems that the voivode's plan was to keep part of the treasure in this hideout, both the eyes of the Turks and those of the boyars. The church is rectangular, initially without a porch.
An important feature of the church plan is the apse of the altar that has a shaft edge.
