About
The Geartoglu church was built in the first part of the 15th century, over the artifacts of a wooden church from the 14th century.
The church was built on the place of a wooden church. It is located in the center of the city, opposite the imposing assembly of the Stelea Monastery, at a very short distance from the Old Center and the Pricely Court, in the middle of one of the oldest neighborhoods of Târgoviște, the former " The Bottom Fair” (“Târg de Jos").
It was the place where was held prisoner for one night, in the chamber at the top of the tower, Tudor Vladimirescu.
