About

Among the medieval churches, the White Church has a special story that begins in the sixteenth century and continues nowadays. It bears this name to distinguish it from the Red Church, built by the village headman Coanda in 1545.
The White Church belongs to the category of hall-type churches, with a single ship and rectangular plan, characterized by the absence of lateral apses, a construction technique frequently spread in the Balkan architecture.
This kind of church is the living proof of an ancient capital, a fascinating history, and conveys a rich historical and cultural wealth that we are proud of.
